As I was preparing to pull cards for the month of December, I was guided to do something a little different. For almost the entire month of November I was guided to study and focus on relationships. The theme of relationships is apparently not finished yet as I was led to draw cards while asking the question, “What do we all need to know about relationships?” I drew three cards from three different decks and this is what I was shown.
First, it felt logical and natural to begin with the Romance Angels Oracle Cards deck. The card that came up was Getting to Know Each Other. The message here is to be more open and honest about your dreams, feelings, and desires. This is a sign from the angels to stop charading around or trying to please others by being anything other than your true self. This applies not only in romantic relationships but in all relationships–friendships, family, co-workers. If you are always wearing a mask to please someone else then the other person has come to accept you as you are with that mask on and may treat you differently from how you really want to be treated or understood. On a personal note, I am in love with deep, personal connections. I thrive on conversations where I can honestly get to know someone else and they can see me as I am. Yes, it can be intense, but with balance it can also be wonderful.
The second card came from the Mary Queen of Angels Oracle Cards deck. One of the strongest relationships we each have is with our mother, whether it be a natural birth mother or a surrogate mother. Mother Mary loves the world unconditionally. From this deck came Devotion. This is related to the first card in that it reminds us to stick with our core values and beliefs. We must stand steadfast in our truth and not be persuaded by others to change course. If you find you are in a relationship with someone who is wanting you to change your core values and beliefs, get out of it. This is not the same thing as stepping outside your comfort zone. Sometimes a new experience is exactly what you need, as long as it is a part of your life plan. If you are unsure of what your values and beliefs are, pray about it and ask for guidance. Pray and meditate on what is important to you. Be still and quiet so that you can hear and know the divine messages that come to you through the angels. Once you commit to your beliefs and become devoted to your truth, the rest will fall into place naturally.
The last card, drawn from the Angel Tarot Cards deck was the Ten of Fire. Fire, as most of you know, is about passion. This card signals we have perhaps been too busy following our passion and purpose in work, and have not stopped to check in with other areas of our lives. Our professional life is doing well and now it is time to give attention to our personal lives. Have you been neglecting a relationship? It is easy to get caught up in the material aspects of the holiday season and working hard to prepare for a little time off. However, it is not good to do this while sacrificing your personal life. Spend time with your significant other, your children, your friends, and your furry companions. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the holiday season with those near and dear to you. If you need help at work ask for it. Find balance and devote your time and energy to all of the important relationships in your life.
So there you have it. I hope you all spend the next few weeks focusing on and giving attention to the relationships in your lives. Remember to be honest and share parts of yourself that long to be shared with another. Devote yourself to your relationships and remind those close to you just how important they are and how happy you are to have them in your life. Use December’s passion to be passionate about not only your purpose, but your relationships as well.
